"Responsible company management includes compliance with statutory regulations."

These however do not always satisfy the requirements of international treaties or meet the expectations of the general public in every situation. In many countries, there are unregulated grey areas. For this reason, a code of conduct, mandatory for everyone, was developed based on generally recognized ethical principles.

Fundamentals and Corporate Values

As part of the Körber Group, the Business Area Tobacco is bound by shared fundamentals and values. Furthermore, its own code of conduct also regulates the following points:

  • Ethical conduct: All employees are bound to comply with high standards of ethical conduct and abide by all applicable national and international laws.
  • Human rights: All employees must, during the course of all activities and business relationships, act fairly, respectfully and in a trustworthy manner and are obliged to observe human rights. All forms of discrimination are prohibited and all forms of forced or child labour are forbidden.
  • Environmental protection: The companies in the Business Area Tobacco deal with resources and pollutants responsibly.
  • Compliance: All employees are obliged to comply with the relevant anti-trust laws and other laws relating to competition. There shall be no corruption in any business transaction at home or abroad. A compliance organization is in place in the Körber Group, which defines the rules and principles for the conduct within the companies of the Körber Group and in relation to external partners and the public.
