SMART RELATIONS – SMART SERVICES

Hauni's service innovations have been transformed primarily as a result of the possibilities of digitization. The recording of production data and its integration with other information allows us to develop entirely new forms of analysis for our customers, as well as value-added services based on them which go beyond the standardized offerings. On the path towards Industry 4.0, the Tobacco industry is also presented with some exciting new opportunities. Producers and their machinery suppliers are drawing closer and more firmly together, and jointly enhancing the effectiveness and productivity of the equipment over its entire life cycle. In this issue we hope to explain how such smart relations become smart services in a variety of industries and show you the opportunities offered by this development and by the extended range of Hauni services worldwide. This time our personal portrait is of Gunnar Jans, our Executive Vice President for Services, and in the interview we talk to Titus Wouda Kuipers, Operations Director of the Tobacco Division of Imperial Brands PLC, about matters such as how the Group sees its suppliers' services and its relationship with them. Our services also include the continuously expanding range of training courses, for which we have created a modern home in the new Hauni Academy at the Hamburg plant, of which you can get a first glimpse in this magazine.
