Process control systems
The automation used in the Primary has to optimize the transparency of the process. In order to fulfil this important requirement, the process is supervised via SCADA systems (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System).
Company-wide production planning
Due to the importance of a smooth material flow and production process, data management should ideally be linked with a high level control system.
Production-oriented manufacturing execution systems (MES) used to specifically improve the value-added process are becomming increasingly important on the shop floor of each modern Primary.
This accelerates and improves the planning and budgeting of services, automatic generation and monitoring of maintenance contracts, as well as the analysis of error and failure statistics. Such applications can increase the service life of components and reveal hidden discrepancies and faults.
Process application software
Clear representation of a complex Primary is achieved by using PC-based visualisation software. The state-of-the-art graphical interface is able to show the exact and complete functional 2- or 3-dimensional plant. The process visualisation system features: job scheduling and detailed planning, batch and blend tracing, process line views, equipment diagnostics and controls, operation of closed loop controls, alarming and reports, recipes and parameters.
Features:
- Consistent control of the same process sequence by several operators at different server stations.
- Data acquisition and archiving is handled centrally by servers.
- Consistent data from all stations to the office LAN.
- Simple expansion of the Primary by distributing tasks to several servers.
- Redundant server structure ensures data integrity.
- Future-oriented system with flexible, open architecture.
