With a total efficiency of 92.7% (including 6 quick size changes within the 20 shifts), a total waste rate of 0.71% and 6.1 million cigarettes produced in one single shift, the PROTOS-M5 for 14,000 cpm successfully passed the machine evaluation program at JTI's factory in Trier, Germany. Both its performance and quality even surpass the high standards already set with the PROTOS-M5 for 12,000 cpm. Proven functions from the PROTOS-M8 cigarette maker were successfully implemented and tested, such as the universal separating drum, the 3 o’clock tip-jet gluing unit and increased fan capacity.
Together with the PROTOS-M5 for 14,000 cpm, the new COMFLEX-MV also qualified with a total efficiency of 99.8% at JTI's factory in Trier. This is all the more outstanding as it was the first field test carried out on the HCF-M and MAGOMAT-M. The RTS-V's very gentle conveyance of cigarettes was also verified. This result marks another milestone reached for the introduction of Hauni’s new generation tray handling system onto the market. In the months to come, additional logistics components of the new generation system will be fully commissioned at a number of customer locations.
