MIDAS-XR, an enhanced version of the highly successful MIDAS system, is Hauni's latest microwave-based, non-nuclear sensor that monitors the weight of the tobacco rod as it travels through the unit. The system can be infinitely adjusted to the respective target weight of the cigarette by the operator in order to achieve an optimum measuring resolution.

MIDAS-XR's product measuring range has also been optimized to ensure that cigarettes with high moisture content and low weight can be processed with top-quality results.
The optional NTRM detection function for MIDAS-XR has also been improved, thereby increasing the detection rate by almost 2.5-fold. Its enhanced NTRM detection system not only detects smaller parts, it also detects materials that were previously barely discernible, manages the system and therefore improves quality assurance.
There is no special training required to operate the new system. MIDAS-XR is retrofittable to all Hauni single-rod or twin-rod makers as well as non-Hauni models. Customers, who already use MIDAS in their production line can upgrade their sensor to the enhanced performance MIDAS-XR.
