Hauni recommends forced cooling of cut tobacco to avoid filling power collapse of highly expanded cut lamina when blended with warm cut tobacco coming from the dryer. Forced cooling helps as well to maintain high filling power gains achieved in an HDT superheated steam dryer. Both the VAS for cut lamina and the XA for CRES are in addition to the cooling function separators, which efficiently remove large stem particles from the product flow, thereby improving cigarette making.
